Becoming A Knight
In order to become a knight, you have to go through years and countless hours of training. But before they go through the training process you must be the son of a knight or noblemen. The training first started when a boy turned seven they were sent away as a page. A page learned dancing, singing, courtly manners, and were told stories of heroic knights. They also polished armor and cleaned chainmail. When the boy turned 14 he became a squire that apprenticed directly to a knight. The squires travelled to tournaments with the knight where he carried his shield, helped him dress, and brought him water. Squires learned wrestling and jousting to build strength. The last step of training happened when they turned seventeen. He had to prove himself with a real or mock battle, a melee or joust. If deemed worthy to become a knight the squire knelt before then noblemen, who then touched him on the shoulder with his flattened sword.
